BigMint's billet index fell by INR 750/tonne (t) d-o-d to INR 40,250/t exw-Raipur on 1 July, 2024. Total billet trades were 2,100 t, compared to 2,500 t on 28 June.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index tracking prices in the Mandi Gobindgarh market decreased by INR 300/tonne (t) ($3.60/t) to INR 38,300/t DAP on 1 July, 2024.

Sponge iron prices in almost all key domestic markets dropped in the range of INR 150-650/tonne (t). PDRI market prices closed at a range of INR 24,900-27,100/t and CDRI prices, at INR 26,600-31,200/t. About 8,800 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 1 July compared to 24,500 t on 28 June.
