Sponge iron prices in key locations of India fell by INR 50-550/tonne (t) on 1 February, 2024. About 13,400 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 1 February compared to 8,252 t on 31 January.

Domestic low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) prices remained unchanged this week in Karnataka's Bellary. BigMint's weekly index for low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) stood at INR 3,800/t ($46/t) ex-mines Bellary, stable, w-o-w.

BigMint's billet index falls by INR 100/t to INR 39,450/t exw-Raipur on 1 February, 2024. About 1,600 t of transactions were recorded on 1 February as against 2,200 t on 31 January.
