BigMint's billet index hit a three-year low today, declining by INR 250/t d-o-d to reach INR 37,950/t ex-works Raipur on 2 September 2024. Around 1,870 t deals were recorded 02 September against 800 t on 30 August.

Sponge iron prices decreased today in the range of INR 100-300/t across regions. PDRI prices stood at INR 23,400-25,750/t at close of trading today, while CDRI prices were assessed at INR 26,000-29,900/t. About 3,600 tonne (t) of sponge iron deals were recorded 02 September compared to 5,850 t on 30 Aug.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market fell by INR 200/tonne (t) to INR 36,800/t DAP on 2 Sept, 2024.
