Bangladesh an emerging market in Asia, imports steel and raw material which plays an important role in the country growth as it is highly dependent on them. According to bulk Import data, imports in Oct'17 were up by 70.5% (M-o-M).
As per custom data of Bangladesh vessel lineup, major bulk import was seen in coal (7 vessel arrived), Steel Coil (6 vessel), Scrap (5 Vessel). some interesting inferences has resulted:
1. Bangladesh coal imports increased in October owing to construction season and the demand will remain high during winters and it imported 292,950 MT of coal in Oct'17.
2. Bulk scrap imports increased in October. Bangladesh imported 123,420 MT in Oct'17 against 106,520 MT in Sep'17. According to port data, around 9 vessels (totaled 233,760 MT) are still waiting to be discharged. Bangladesh ports are experiencing heavy congestion owing to rising demand for scrap, coal and food grains.
3. Abul Khair imported 53,800 MT HBI from Russia
4. HR Coil imports to Bangladesh recorded at 89,700 MT which was 54,000 MT last month. Some manufacturers heard to be importing CR Coil from India.
