World Crude Steel Output Up by 2% M-o-M in Jan'20

As per data released by the World Steel Association, 64 steel manufacturing nations collectively churned out 154.44 MnT of crude steel in Jan'20 up by 2% compared with 152.12 MnT in Dec'19. On a yearly premise, the same inch up by 2% in Jan'20 compared with 151.23 MnT in Jan'19.

SteelMint has analyzed the crude steel output of top steel-producing countries which are mentioned below:

-- China's crude steel output stable in Jan '20- China's crude steel production stood at 84.27 MnT in Jan'20 remain stable against the previous month. However, it increased by 7% Y-o-Y in Jan'20 over 78.59 MnT in Jan' 19.

-- India's crude steel output remain unchanged in Jan '20- Indian crude steel output stood at 9.29 MnT in Jan'20 when compared with 9.28 MnT in the preceding month. Meanwhile, the output down by 3% Y-o-Y in Jan'20 as against 9.59 MnT in Jan'19.

-- Japan's crude steel output rose by 6% in Jan'20- Japanese crude steel output stood at 8.24 MnT in Jan'20, increased by 6% as compared to 7.78 MnT a month ago. However, on a yearly premise, the same increased marginally by 1% in Jan'20 over 8.14 MnT in Jan'19.

-- United States crude steel output up by 3% in Jan'20- United States crude steel output up by 3% to 7.71 MnT in Jan'20, as against 7.46 MnT a month ago. Also, the same rose by 3% on a yearly premise in Jan'20 over 7.52 MnT in Jan'19.

-- Crude steel production of other top steel-producing nations in Jan'20- Russia- 6.00 MnT, South Korea- 5.75 MnT, Germany- 2.85 MnT, Turkey- 3.01 MnT, Brazil- 2.68 MnT, and Iran- 2.90 MnT in Jan' 20.
