All India Non Ferrous Metal Exim Association (AINFMEA) is a premier national body representing India’s non-ferrous metal exporters and importers. The association works closely with industry stakeholders to promote fair trade practices, policy advocacy, and sustainable growth across the non-ferrous metals value chain, including aluminium, copper, zinc, lead, nickel, and related alloys. With a strong focus on international trade facilitation, AINFMEA acts as a unified voice for its members by engaging with government authorities, trade bodies, and global partners. Started off as Metal Recycling Association of India, in 2011, the industry body of metal industry stakeholders metamorphosized into a full-blown trade body at the instance of Government, which directed it to embrace and extend the benefits of its benevolent actions all recycling and recyclable commodity stakeholders, not limiting them to the metal sector alone. Today, under the new nomenclature ‘Material Recycling Association of India’ MRAI is the apex organization of the sub-continent representing the rapidly growing recycling industry.
India Lead Zinc Development Association, popularly known as ILZDA in brief, set up in 1962, is a non-profit non-commercial organization registered under Societies Act 1860, dedicated to market development and dissemination of technical information in respect of Lead, Zinc and their downstream applications. ILZDA is a technical body; not a trade body. ILZDA works in close collaboration with International Lead Association (www.ila-lead.org), International Zinc Assn (www.zinc.org), International Lead Zinc Study Group (www.ilzsg.org), as well as similar Lead/Zinc Development Associations, Galvanizing Assns, Battery Forums etc., in other countries.

The roots of BME stretch back to 1933. In that pivotal year, the organization was born with just 8 members under the leadership of Sheikh Gulamally Shamshuddin Tambawala. The 1955 amalgamation of the Metal Exchange Association and the Metal Traders’ Association created the Bombay Metal Exchange Limited, envisioned as an embodiment of unity and growth. Today, BME stands as the apex body of non-ferrous metals trade with 800 + active members, setting benchmark prices and advocating for industry interests at national levels.
